Anyone know of any for sale right now? I'm tired of waiting for the processor in my 295 to catch up when I'm running through the DB.

Mike,

I am not sure what you sentence means about waiting, but it could be as simple as your internal battery being bad (see other discussions on this elsewhere). My 296 would take forever to acquire satlock after I owned it 4 or 5 years. After reading an article, I changed the internal battery and it is like a new GPS acquiring satelittes before I can listen to ATIS after flipping on the avionics master. Usually less than a minute.

That said, I would like to upgrade to a 496 someday, but eventually all will have this problem and Garmin wants a lot of money to change the little $1 battery.

hhmmm. Are you saying there is another battery inside the unit besides the double As that are in there? I'm using external power so I know it doesnt have anything to do with those.
It aquires satlock pretty quick but cant keep up when I'm scrolling through airports or using the curser.
I'll search through the archives.
Thanks for the info Jeff.

Jared, I've had one for a year. Best portable GPS in the world, period. Expensive of course, but in my world, worth it. I wasn't sure I could afford it, so I got mine on a 3 month rental with an option to buy (all rental fees were applied to the purchase.) Best of all, I was able to finance it through the rental company for zero interest for a year. I just paid it off this month. The price has come down $300 since I purchased last summer.
http://www.factorygps.com/ You can also rent/purchase other Garmins from Airpower, such as the Aero etc.

Royson, Curious how your mounting it. Looks a little large/heavy for the yoke.
