Hey, I just recently got my 150G so I'm still in the process of cleaning it up. It is nice that people here give so generously.
So if anybody has more surplus parts or has something to sell for a 150G, let me know. I'll be changing the tips on the wings and both the horizontal and vertical stabilizers soon. I also want to add a GPS/COM over time and I need to replace the VOR/CDI head that is currently in use with the Narco 12D. When I add the GPS I'll also be getting a new CDI, annunciator and audio panel. While I would prefer all new Garmin gear, I will probably end up with what I can find at a good price.
On the wing tips, I think it will be better for me to buy fiberglass tips rather than plastic. It seems they will last longer. Any opinions to the contrary? The ones on the plane are plastic and have several cracks.
I changed out my wingtips several years ago with the fiberglass RMD lighted wingtips, and I love 'em. If you don't want/need the lights in the tips, you can still get the fiberglass tips from Texas Aeroplastics. They (regular wingtips) cost about $500 but are worth it.

I'm getting new tips for the tail/vert stab for my plane. Texas Aeroplastics, I think. The paint guy is ordering and installing them. My wings have Horton tips (I think) as I have the Horton STOL mod.
Those lighted wingtips look nice! I hadn't heard about them but will certainly consider them. Do you keep the taxi/landing light on the wing too? Are the tip lights wired in parallel with the wing light?
Is there any issue with the nav lights not being visible from the rear? It seems like they would be blocked by the light.
Scott has the interior - mounted nav light and strobe. Mine are the conventional exterior - mounted nav light. There are no issues with the nav lights not being visible from the rear. It is only required that the lights be visible in a 110 degree arc. From where they are mounted and also that they had to pass muster with the Feds for approval, I don't see that as an issue at all. I don't have strobes - yet, but recently had the pulselights installed, and they work like a champ.
The RMD tips cost about $1500 and take a few weeks to get to ya because they are custom made. I can vouch for the integrity of RMD. Bob there is great and will work with you. Again, these lighted tips are fabulous. Expensive, yes compared to conventional tips, but IMHO well worth it. I love 'em.
