Folks,

I sent the following listing to club HQ to be posted in our classifieds, and it's also on Barnstormers and Alaskaslist.com:

Lycoming O-235-N2C, removed 10-15-2009 from N94790 for a Sparrowhawk engine swap, TT 6617, SMOH 2132 (TBO 2400). This engine is a strong running engine and comes with everything: carb, mags, baffling, exhaust, oil cooler, starter, alternator, and I have all logs. $4,000. Located in Alaska, will ship anywhere in U.S. at buyer's expense.

A Sparrowhawk prop and spinner is also available for $1,000.

This is the engine that came out of my '83 152, when I replaced it with a low time Sparrowhawk engine. It has a new cylinder (less than 20 hours) and was a hot little O-235 when I took it out. Note that it has about 250 hours before TBO and would make someone a good engine for a few years depending on how many hours a year you fly. It is currently stored in a heated hanger and will get pickled soon if I don't sell it. I had a guy in Anchorage who was going to buy it from me, but he recently backed out, so I'm advertising it broadly!

If you know anyone who needs it ... please let me know.

Makes me wish I NEEDED an O-235! frown

How much for the STC to put it in a 150C, I wonder? Hmmmm! whistle

According to the Airmods, NW website, [sensenich.com] the 0-235 N2C doesn't appear to be included in the STC for the Sparrowhawk conversion, just the L2C. frown

Sparrowhawk doesn't apply to 150's, of course, but there is (was) an STC for installing an O-235 in a 150 (although I seem to remember it was a one-off installation).

NOW I'll have to go and look! Thanks! cry

IIRC, the Sparrowhawk mod uses stock N2C parts to convert the L2C. It would be pointless to "convert" the N2C which already has the parts and power (if I'm right).

I'm in Anchorage tonight and don't have the prop log with me, but it is the Sensenich prop specified in AirMods STC SA1008NM for the Sparrowhawk conversion. It has been inspected and found to meet the manufacturers specs and is ready to fly.

It and the spinner came with the 152 Sparrowhawk wreck that I bought and is in good shape. It was inspected after the wreck and found to be undamaged. The wreck happened in the deep snow, and the plane spun around it's vertical axis, so the prop didn't strike anything and there was no damage to repair.

It does have a spot on one side that was a ding from a small rock (very common in Alaska) and it was filed out by a mechanic and isn't a problem, but like most props in Alaska (including the one on my airplane) it isn't flawless. It has not been on an airplane since the inspection by the prop shop, so I am confident that it is good to go.

The spinner is the same one specified in the STC for the Sparrowhawk. The only reason the prop and spinner isn't on my 152 is that mine already had the Sensenich prop and spinner so the mechanic used mine instead of the other. Both props and spinners were in the same shape, but one was at the mechanic's hanger and the other was at my house. So I have a spare to sell or keep as a spare.

You can have the prop and spinner for $1,000 + shipping.
