IFR Certification - what's reasonable?

Around here, avionics shops are charging between $260-300 for an IFR certification (once every two years).

Does this sound reasonable?

Not terribly bad. First one was $225, second one was $250 and it's due again at annual.

About what I paid, on two different occasions at two different shops -- just short of $300.00

Jim, I ought to get it done on the way to/from Clinton...the trip would then practically pay for itself!

Might not be a bad idea....line up a bunch of 150's for IFR certs with one mobile avionics shop and crank them out for $150 a pop, plus a $20 donation to the club!

Thanks for your inputs, guys! MM

$185 at Peninsula Avionics in Palo Alto, CA. One of the few cases where a price in California is actually less than someone in the midwest. I usually wind up paying more for repairs, and such...
