Trying to locate a cylinder for my left main; any potential used sources? Replacement with new appears to require full wheel set, both sides, to replace brake cylinder

You can ask Gary Shreve about it. Apparently the pilot who crashed his plane didn't use it.

Indeed, new parts are no longer available for the McCauley wheels and brakes. You will have to seek out used parts. Is yours broken or badly corroded?

Other alternative is to convert to Cleveland wheels and brakes.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, right into the trees. Unfortunately, I can't sell anything off of my plane. They didn't accept my bid. So, it's going up for auction, I don't know when. Even then, I probably won't bid on it. There's something coming up that could potentially significantly change my signature block, so if anyone out there is interested, I'll post the link to the insurance company when it comes up for bid.

Until then, try Wentworth, White Industries, and Air Salvage of Dallas. There's also a good little junkyard in Clinton, Arkansas. They deal with a lot of 150/152's. I'm not sure of their name, I'm sure it's not Clinton air salvage, That is in Iowa after Hung left part of his plane on the runway. I never found the pieces, but he swears that he left something there....

Is it cracked? Gotta hate that.

Later,

Gary Shreve
