Went to Medville OR to look at the 1963 150. Mis-comunication between us. Plane was manufactured in December of 1963, but was sold by Cessna as a 1964 D model, the omnivision one with the square tail. Still a good buy, but not for my elevation, 7,000 feet plus. Still looking for a 1959 to 1963 fastback.

Unless the "C" model you were looking at had an O-320 engine in it, there shouldn't be so much performance difference between it and a "D" that you'd notice.

The book numbers reflect mainly the increase in gross weight from 1500lbs to 1600lbs. There were other differences due to the rear-window drag and a prop change, but loaded to the same weight, both planes should perform just as anemically at 7,000'. smile

I don't know if Gordon's plane is still available. You might want to check on it. It's a beautiful plane.

John meant "Medford" Oregon. I had the privilege of meeting him and visiting with both him and Joel. I was sure sorry to see the deal turn out to be a waste of time and money due to the above mentioned miscomunication. I do believe it's a pretty good airplane for the money...but it's definitely not a fastback.

Anyway John, I hope you find the airplane you want. Good hunting!!

Gordon's 1959 beautiful 150 is still for sale. He is firm asking $22,000.for it.

Gordon is still handing in there, looks great, but had to visit the VA hospital in Denver last Monday for additional treatment.

Dan,

Just another symptom of old age, can't tell Medville from Medford OR. Sorry, I should know better.
