Well, it has no shortage of wings, so you must be able to fly the heck out of it....

Looks like something Bede or Rutan would have designed in their early years.

It has as much wing area as an F-4 Phantom, but might need a bit more engine.

I wonder how stable it would be with those short wings?

Ah, the F-4 Phantom. Proof that given enough power, even a brick will fly. smile

Great plane though. I got to see the Collings Foundation's F-4 fly at the Nellis AFB open house back in 2000. It actually howls.

The F4. The only aircraft I have seen that has it's own built in airshow smoke system. Two of them, actually! smile

When I was with the Air Guard crewing an F-106. [Linked Image] It was the short straw that had to go and "catch" the F-4's when they transited through. We hated them. Mostly because the F-106 spoiled us. It was so clean, not having any protrusions to bump the head and work around. And sat tall off the ground so we didn't have to get on our hands and knees. Plus, we would make fun of the F-4's when they took off suggesting that they might as well punch off the drop tanks at the end of the runway. For they were already empty! smirk

We kept them mighty pretty, didn't we? grin

And the F-106 didn't even require a pilot to land. See story. [f-106deltadart.com]
