Funny how A) they say it's black and red, it's blue and red and B) they say it's got a 2,000 hour TBO.

Just needs a wing, and you can fly her home. Don't worry the lightning really did'nt hurt anything. trust me, I'm an aircraft dealer.

If all it needed was a wing- and the wing is only 750 why did the insurance company total it?

no known damage to the electrical system or avionics...sounds like wentworth sent a tech to check out the plane without a key to do a run-up and avionics check. they seem to think the owner knows nothing about his own airplane. this is what is so great about being in the 150-152 club, being that the owner is a member of the club, his report to the members is more likely to be more than just bring a wing and transponder and you can fly it home the next day. what i like about this club, being a newer member, is that we have members all over the world that are willing to go out and help do pre-buys at airports near them free and give good feedback on an aircraft so members don't get stung. being an ia in florida, as a member of the 150-152 club , i am always willing to do a pre-buy in florida for our members for free. but the cost of fuel to get there and back would really be appreciated. the cost of fuel being what it is....jim

My guess is that they (wentworth) paid about 40% to 65% of the claim amount paid to Filipe for the 'salvage' right to the airplane... In this case the ins co did ok, they disposed of the claim AND the salvage w/out removing the aircraft. They did ok on this one.

Depending on if they offered the salvage out to bid of just sold it to Wentworth
