The buyer also has 20,000 hours as a commercial pilot -- Jeff probably isn't there yet.

I went by the hanger today. He'd already put the wheel fairings on it and was deep in washing the plane (first time in five years it has been washed except at annual). So it looks like he's going to keep it flying and looking better that I did. Glad to see that.

He indicated he's reveal himself with some before and after photos of the plane after he finishes some upgrades he has planned. This is the fourth 150 that he has owned. Each of the others he gave to his sons as they grew into flying -- and now his daughter wants one. But that his story to tell . . . .

Hi all.. I am the new proud owner of N8526J. It was a delight dealing with John Tiner and I'm very happy with the airplane.

It will be used initially to train my college senior daughter... the I get to have fun with floats. Will probably do the 160 hp stc on the next overhaul on the o-320. Thinking also of the exhaust stc that boosts it another 20 so I've heard. Would sure appreciate any feedback re experience with either stc.

Welcome, John. Nice ride, as well.

I've heard great things about the Powerflow Exhaust mod! grin grin grin

I'm jealous of your float intentions, though.

I was wondering if that particular O-320 was a narrow or wide deck 320. Narrow deck engines I think are not legal for the hp upgrade. But...who wouldn't like a little extra ponies, huh?

Congratulations on a nice, capable bird. It's been everywhere, and never let John T. down. Enjoy it.

BTW...can you fly it to Clinton, Iowa the last weekend in July? grin

Thanks, Gary. Actually my cfi son and my daughter will be picking it up about July 31 in Missouri. They will fly it to Seattle, giving my daughter some great training. I do look forward to lots of great forum discussions. I'm a huge fan of the 150's... as John said, this is my fourth. As far as I'm concerned it is the best kept secret in aviation.

Now, if we can just convince the FAA to raise the 1320 to 1600 we can all keep flying into the twilight years. This forum should be the basis of a concerted effort to convince the brown suit guys to make the change. I will certainly do my part in concert with the club. Comments?

John,

July 31st is the weekend of the Clinton Fly-In. It's not too far from St. Louis to Clinton Iowa. Your son and daughter should take a detour to the fly-in. I'm sure they'll have a great time seeing a gathering of 150s and 152s.

Welcome John,

Good to see another 150/150 in the great PNW. Make sure you check into PNWFlying [pacificnorthwestflying.com]

Good group there....errr....watch out for Bill, however, he can be interesting grin Bill and Dan from S. OR are both 150/150 owners and I am a former 150/150 owner.

Also, just for the info, I don't think there is an STC for the Power Flow on the O-320 equipped 150. I looked into that and it would have to be a field approval which, in our FAA District, is not likely. Might have to go to Alaska to pull that off. And the 160 hp....you probably have an E2D which as Gary pointed out is probably not eligible for the upgrade.

After you put floats on it, just install a climb prop and you will have all the ponies you need.
