I have a registration question for those of you in Mass but who keep their planes in NH.

I live in Mass, but I keep my plane year round in NH. Today I got a letter from the Massachusetts Registry looking for registration money and late fees. If I read the letter correctly I don't think that I am required to pony up any cash for the commonwealth since the plane is in NH.

Anyone know the answer on this before I call them and perhaps make the situation worse?

It would seem that since our state is out of money the tax man is trying to drum up business! I thought we had a tea party a few years ago over taxes...

Tim,
I live in Mass and base my plane in RI.
I think that you need to show them your NH registration and they will go away.

When I bought my plane I paid Mass Sales Tax (it wasn't exempt back then)
and when I went to register it in RI I had to pay them the difference in their sales tax. frown

Ron,

Thanks for the info. I will call them tomorrow and get this squared away.
