I was able to install my OAT probe inside the RH air vent.

This mimics the old location and keeps the probe out of sight.

The Davtron probe is quite large.
My A&P wouldn't hear about it being under the wing.
He reckoned someone would walk into it.

He wanted it on the belly.
I didn't want it there because of exhaust and heat from the engine.

The original location turned out to be ideal.

The probe only sicks down about an inch. I believe one would almost have to try to hit it under the wing plus I usually hit my head on the strut first it protects the other parts of the plane from my head anyway !!!
