N8367M is for sale on Trade A Plane. http://tappix.com/818202

I have been drooling over this
plane since it was listed as Airplane of the Month last year.
I have literally had dreams about this plane.

And it is six months too soon... frown

I can't afford it until summer.

I'm a new guy here. My name is Steve. I have lived the last 15
years on a small sailboat in L.A. harbour. I moved ashore near
KWHP and started building an RV-9A (couldn't fit the compressor
on the boat). Then I found out about 150/150hp Cessnas. I
stopped the kit and have to sell the boat and am saving for a
150/150. It is more appropriate for my mission.

I'm a 50 year old student pilot. My wife passed recently and I think working on PPSEL helped me through the time.

Anyway, does anyone know Eric Seabase and know why he is selling
such a wonderful plane? I don't want to be just a tyre kicker
and bother him.

All the best,
Stephen

Welcome Steve!!!

That is a neat plane, I concur. However, if you keep looking, there are ALWAYS neat planes out there. I love my 150 to death, but had I waited and learned more about what I wanted, I would have bought a 150/150 fastback taildragger.

Hi Steve!
I dont know who Eric Seabase is but that plane was registered to some Smith guy from Hartford City Indiana. Around here Indy Aero goes "fishing" by sending out post cards saying to call them if you want to sell your plane. Maybe they sent one to Mr Smith?

Any way...Indy Aero seemed like a nice company to deal with, I looked at a plane they had for sale about 5 years ago. I was even going to put a deposit on it but some one beat me to it.

BTW...I called the previous owner of the Warrior that Indy Aero was selling, told me it was a great plane ect, reason he sold it ect.
I'd give him a call, sure wouldn't hurt!

Errr...

If Eric Seabase still has that plane there must have been some issues.

The plane was originally rebuilt in Arizona by Eric. The plane has an interesting mix of features, including manual flaps, dual landing lights, the list goes on.

There was much discussion when it was originally put up for sale 2 years ago or so. The registration indicates its a 1970 K model, but it has the long dorsal fin from a K or later, and the manual flaps were a feature from a very early model.

I don't see Eric's name anywhere on that ad. Did you see it there, or somewhere else? Last I'd heard someone in Eastern Indiana had bought it - I ran across it at an airport near Winchester Indiana two years ago. As far as I know Eric is still in Arizona.

The plot thickens....

Apparently, Eric is looking for a 150/150 himself...

Welcome to the club Stephen. I've flown into WHP several times over the years from up north. I'm currently staying in Simi Valley on a work assignment but the airplane is at home snug in the hangar in Oregon. PM me sometime and we'll get together for lunch. BTW, you can't go wrong with a good 150/150.

If that's the plane i think it is, that dorsal is from a 172.

That vertical fin is not a 172 fin. The plane you are thinking of is a tailwheel plane with clipped wings and a funky cowling.

That is a very nice plane priced a little high I think but it is absolutely beautiful up close I have seen it at a couple of local fly ins around Indiana. The pics don't do it justice!!
