I have a problem....the "Wind-up" clock in my 150 has finally give up the ghost and moved on to a better place(at least for it not me) I have had a look through the catalogue's everywhere however none of the new clocks really do anything for me - lets face it "I like my wind-up clock". does anyone out there have one they will be willing to part with. I know some of you like to upgrade and go for the digital ones with all the options and some just like the electric ones that look the same. So please--- help needed, if you have one in the back of the shed you dont want any more I would love to have it, and when I say have I would be rewarding you accordingly (within reason of course) for you passing it on - remember there exchange rate here is pretty ordinary- -the old South Pacific Paso takes a beating when transfering to the Geenback, so be gentle
Look forward to hearing from you -who ever you may be . Ihave included a pic of the panel so show the one I am looking for
Used 8-day wind up clocks used to be plentiful, but are getting very rare these days. I prefer them myself, but have the 12v models now. They are still available new, but with the exchange rate, you'll take a beating to get it to Oz!
Thanks for the reply, I am really hoping someone can help out here, I have gone to CessnaParts.com and they are quoting List @ $364.00, however will sell me a new one(of course I am assuming its new) for $309.40 US, by the time I get it here with frieght and taxes and the exchange rate, it makes it around $500.00 to $600.00+ - - Ouch, I guess I just wait and see what happens with the club members first before taking the next step
Find you an old time watch repairman, those eight day clocks are wonderful and readily repairable by the right person. There are a couple of honest to goodness certified repair stations (CRS) here in the US that repair the things, but any good watch repairman (preferably over the age of 70), will know how to clean and adjust the thing.
Hey Matt I may be able to help you regarding your wind-up clock.I do know a guy in Bathurst who does old clock repairs, he is not 70 yet but would me on the way to it. I will ask his wife who works at the same facility as I and I can get back to you. Got your email and pics as well as your Ph#s so I will be in contact. Brian
Thanks for that, I'll look forward to seeing how you get on.
Thinking about making the trip out to Bathurst this Sunday Morning, I'll give you a call either tomorrow night (wed) or on Thursday morning in the moble if its going to be a goer to see if you have anything planned on that day.

Thanks for the info, at this stage I am still clockless (and yes everyone that word was "CLOCKless") Perhaps you could send me a private message to discuss the $$'s.
Just to confirm, the clock is the same as the standard Cessna clock, and not the one that has the wind-up in the lower centre of the clock itself?? - in otherwords the winder is in the lower left where a screw would go in a normal 21/4 in guage. Reason I ask as I have a clock with the wind-up know in the centre lower between the two screw holes however dont want to cut into the panel to make the change to make it fit as such...
I look forward to hearing from you, and thanks for looking out for me

Charles-
I resent that remark! I'm nowhere close to 70 and I'm pretty good at servicing ancient clock mechanisms.
