A friend of mine just bought a 1978 152 II for $12,500. It was left for dead on the ramp three years ago. However it is complete with logs and no damage history. The engine has 2300 hours on it but he was able to get it through annual. He has been flying it for the last few days and has a few problems but it seems to be fine. What a DEAL !!!

Not bad! Overhaul will cost a pretty penny, but there are good shops that can do an overhaul for only a modest sum. Good plane to fly and fix things up piece by piece how your friend wants it.

The next plane I buy (if there will be one) will be cheap with a worn out engine and horrible paint and interior. Overhaul to my specs, paint to my specs, and interior to my specs, for cheaper than buying a plane ready to go out of the box and converting it over to my specs.

Sounds like a deal to me!
