Let's just say that for over $90,000, I certainly would not be buying a 152!!

Wayne Westerman's 150/150 was certainly on par with this one, if not better, and he sold it for under $50,000.

But, if I was going to spend that much money on a 152? It would be for N24981 [cessna150-152.com] . For, if I spent that much money on a 152, then I would demand the best. And there is certainly none prettier then 981. And I know Mr. Warner will sell you 981 for less then $90,000.

It's not that I intend to buy it, I think it is priced "Extremely High", I just wanted to have an idea of what you guys think it's worth.

981 seems to be a very nice airplane, it doesn't have the 150hp engine though. Do you know if it's for sale at a reasonable price?

"Fair" is truly relative in a case like this.

There's no question someone injected a massive amount of cash in this plane but few buyers, if any, will step up to the plate and reimburse the owner for his outlay of cash.

Having said that, if this is the kind of plane a person wants:

1. It's very difficult to find a low time airframe such as this and if you could:

2. It would cost this amount and probably more to to duplicate this plane and:

3. If one was to find and buy a low time 152 and duplicate this plane, there will be a massive number of pages torn off the calendar as the months roll by during the process.

Did I mention that it's all relative?????

My opinions about the asking price is the same as GP Bill: whatever the market is willing to pay for it...

I would guess in one or two years, it will sell for around half the actual asking price.

An airplane is worth whatever someone is willing to pay...at least to that person. I'd guess the owner of this particular little Cessna probably paid a premium price, then again paid top dollar hiring out all the upgrades he wanted, over ran his headlights in the process and now finds himself buried in the money pit he created. Now, for whatever reason, wants to sell it and is hoping that one insane buyer will come along and rescue him. Maybe that will happen, but not likely. I agree with Fred's prediction that some day in the future the airplane will sell for about half the present asking price.

What you invest in an airplane, or what it would take to duplicate one has little relavence to its actual market value.

I think that other considerations come into play that would keep the price of a 150 below $50,000 regardless of the instrumentation and condition.

As one example, I believe it would be impossible to insure that 150 for the asking price.
