Clinton sounds like more and more fun everytime I read about it.

But then again, maybe Poobs will be doing my laundry after Catherine gets done with him.

you should have Poobs wash the clothes and you can take him up for the spin cycle, 15 turns should dry things out!

I heard Poobs talking about that, too, Catherine. He was almost giddy that he would be able to have clean clothes at Clinton, finally!

Definitely...he needs an extra run on the "Spin Cycle!" grin grin

Thanks for the heads-up, Hung.

Back to the original thread... any recommendations on tie downs for the plane?

I made my own. I took three pieces of angle iron, drilled a hole in the top of each one, attached each with a one foot section of chain and made three of them. They work great. I think "the claw" uses the same concept.

I'll bet Ed Patacky will have the women tying his plane down.

Do a search on tie downs and you will see a lot of variations. I made some with chain. 3 lengths connected with a quick link. My rods are 18 inch pieces of 3/8 steel. I threaded one end and used lock nuts and washers for the stop and sharpened the other end. 3 sets, an extra rod, hammer, ropes and bag weigh 11 pounds. Look at the EAA site also for more ideas.

I use a variation of those. 3 lengths of chain connected by a quick link per rope. I tie the rope to the quick link and drive some really big nails into the ground through the end link of each chain segment. The head of the nail keeps the chain from slipping off. No modifications necessary, and the only tool you need is a blunt object to drive the nails.
