On Friday I completed the purchase of N66955, a 1978 Cessna 152 (pic attached). Thanks to all of you for sharing your experience in the club forums. I found it to be invaluable.

I hope to be flying by next week.

Details for those who are interested

1978 CESSNA 152, 5814.8 TTAF, 380.1 SMOH, 380.1 TTP. New paint, windows, exterior plastic, wingtips in 1999 and new carpet and seat covers in 2003, paint and interior 9 out of 10. Also has a Tanis engine heater.

I originally agreed to pay $28K for the plane on the condition that anything found in the pre-purchase inspection would be paid for by the seller who happened to be an A&P. The plane was delivered to my mechanic who conducted a complete annual inspection. The discrepancy list produced was provided to the seller along with an offer of $25K for the plane "as-is". The seller agreed and now I own my first airplane. Woo-hoo! Woot! Woot!

Congratulatons,

I also own a 152 which I bought last year. You will have fun flying it. I wished it had a slightly larger cabin. Other than that, I have enjoyed owning it to date.

Congratulations! Nice numbers for the purchase, too. (times and $$$). To paraphrase the Amex advertisements: Ownership has its rewards!

Well, Ya gotta be happy with that , nice looking little guy too. Oh to live in the good old US of A, over here the same aircraft here would be around $15K of your dollars more. even an old 150 "fixer-upera" (alot-era ) sells for around $33-35K Aussie Dollars, which is about what you paid for your bird - Good Luck to ya and all the best with it

Cheers
