OK, I found a Riems 150 Aerobat for sale with the 0-240 engine in it. The engine and all accessories are new as is the paint and interior and glass (wonder what the sellers definition of new is). The seller now lives in Nevada, but the airplane is still in France. His asking price is $45,000! This is steep and I wonder how this airplane can be registered in the USA (does the French DGAC have to certify that the airplane meets all the requirements of the TC and the Title 14 CFR 23)? Modifications through 337's don't bother me much in case anyone wonders.

What about this one?

Check your PM's for one in Janesville WI - a 152 Sparrowhawk conversion you should *definitely* look at.

Will, when you see someone mention PM, it means Private Message. At the top of the webpage next to the (Logout) box you will see a flashing envelope when you have a private message and you can go to it and read the meassage. You can also view and manage messages thru the MyHome link at the top of the web page.

I'll keep this short, I've got to get to work.

The Reims 150's are certificated under a different type certificate than the Cessna aircraft, therefore, technically, they are a different aircraft. Generally its not a problem, but many (should I say most) STC's for the Cessna 150 specify the type certificate number 3A19 on the front of the STC as the applicable aircraft. Unless the STC specifically lists the Reims TC, which is A13EU, then that STC cannot be applied to the Reims aircraft without going thru the field approval process. Probably a simple paperwork drill for most STC's, but still a hassle to deal with.

Also, parts are difficult to find for the O-240, Continental supports the engine but not very well. RR turned all support over to Continental several years ago. Many Reims Aerobats have been converted to O-200's due to the lack of O-240 parts. (heresay on my part but I have no reason to doubt that)

Charles.
