Does anyone have a possible source for the little piece of plastic for the nosegear wheel pant strut opening? Mine is missing, of course. The plane is a 1976 150M with the standard factory wheel pants for that year.

Thanks,
Rick

Rick, I have a 76 150M with (removed) wheel pants. Exactly what little piece of plastic are you referring to? There's a metal piece that goes on top of the nosewheel pant. Maybe I'm missing something too??

The part we need is the cover plate on the nose wheel pant, that when removed allows installation of the fairing over the nose forks. They are almost impossible to find. I need one for the 1973 style wheel pants. If I had one, I could make a cover myself.

Hmmm, I guess the part I need is actually metal. I assumed the part over the nosegear would be plastic, but I guess it's metal. If it wasn't missing, I'd have known what it was made of...:)

Thanks,
Rick

Rick, if I didn't know better I would probably have guessed it was plastic too..seeing how the rest of the wheelpant unfortunately is.

Anyway, the part you need is part #0743625-17 (1974 models and on). And for 71-73 models it's part# 0743625-15. Cover plate assembly. It's $76.50 (sheesh!) as listed here [parts123.com]

The 71-73 part lists for $116.44...

I've looked at mine on my Cardinal...doesn't look like complicated part. Why not find someone who will loan you theres as a pattern, and exercise your ability to "supervise" the manufacture of your own part in this case. I bet a local sheet metal shop would do it cheap, and if you supply the template, you would be legal I believe. (check FAR's but owner manufactured parts are allowable).
