Since it's licensed as Experimental, Amateur Built, think of the money you would save doing all the maintenance on it yourself...

Don't know what the reserve is but if I were in the market for something like an RV-10 and I could have this instead, I'd forget the -10 and join the turboprop set.

I realize this is a light moment, but ... if you didn't build, you can't do the maintenance.

No Reg, you are incorrect. Anyone can do maintenance on an Experimental Amateur Built aircraft--there is no requirement to be the owner, or operator, or A&P. Being the builder of a single aircraft does allow a person to apply for a repairman's certificate for that aircraft (only that single airframe and no other). The holder of a repairman's certificate entitles that person to do the annual condition inspection on that single airframe. An experimental's annual condition inspection must be accomplished by the holder of that airframe's repairman certificate or any licensed A&P (no IA required). Your wife could overhaul the engine and install an autopilot on any experimental amateur built aircraft and she needn't have any certificate or training whatsoever.
