I couldn't afford your plane if you gave it to me right now, but if I had some money to spend and was interested, I probably wouldn't respond to a "Make offer" ad. Many guys look for ad's like that, but others (like myself) won't bother with them.
I don't like to haggle! I need a starting point before I "start" to consider something! When I buy something, I want to know the bottom line price (or at least an "asking" price) up front. If it's too high, I might make one offer (my final bid), otherwise I walk, and there's no hard feelings. I've seen guys haggle for weeks over something, and then when the deal finally falls through, everybody's pissed because of all the wasted time. Also, with airplanes, I rarely consider anything without pics! | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,873 Likes: 3 Member/2500+posts | Member/2500+posts Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,873 Likes: 3 | Chris,
I'm sorry, I don't know how we missed your original post, but we will be happy to post your ad in the club classified section where it can also be seen by non club members and doesn't get lost behind the latest post.
I do agree with Carl that "make offer" is not a good way to go, because folks like to know what sort of ballpark you are considering. If you are highly negotiable, you might say your asking price is negotiable, or something like "I'll consider any offer over $35K etc.
Also, pictures are a huge plus. Please email any pictures you have to classfieds@cessna150-152.com and we'll get your ad running right away. | | | | Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 674 Member/500+posts | Member/500+posts Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 674 | Chris, Carl and Royson's posts are full of good advice. In early November I bought a 150. In retrospect, the advertisements could attract or repel. No pictures, bad pictures, no asking price, curious wording, lack of timely reply were high on the list of negatives. The Classifieds on this site are definitely the way to go. | | | | Joined: Oct 2007 Posts: 38 Member | Member Joined: Oct 2007 Posts: 38 | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 9,802 Likes: 113 Member/7500+posts | Member/7500+posts Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 9,802 Likes: 113 | Holy cow...you're right on the "no BS"...that's a great price. I wish I was in the market. I'm sure it won't last long at that advertised price. A 150/150, AND an aerobat?
