I am ordering a thermal engine blanket off ebay from a company called Airplane-covers and Custom Cabin Covers.

Has anybody tried their Cabin and windshield covers? Do they fit well? The price seems right and I am thinking of ordering one of these also if they are any good.

Thanks,
Brian

Brian, I bought the full windows cover this summer from them and so far I am very happy with the quality and price. Keep in mind this one does not cover the fuel caps, but it has a soft pad that touches the windshield.

Hey John,

Do you still need to clear snow from the wings after a significant accumulation or does the snow simply blow off and not adhere to the fabric?

How long have you used their product? I have found the shock cords to be the weakest link on my cabin cover. I've had to replacement them after two years.

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Brian,

I've bought the same cover from them 3 months ago and I'm very happy with it.

I used them all last year, as for the snow it piles up a little higher than without, but I like just uncliping the bungies and pull the covers off the end of the wing it make a nice neat pile of snow out of my way. A foot or more I knock it off with a broom and then slide the rest off the end. In late winter with the melting freezing cycles you will be thankfull that you have covers. Ice doesn't stick to them at all!! I remember flying one week when everyone around me was wating for there turn in the hanger to defrost. I like flying at sunrise today was 25deg and thick frost, I was wheels up at 6:30.

The only other thing about the covers they catch on where the flaps and alerons meet, I purchased two kids swim noodles $1.00 each. cut them down the middle and slide them over the trailing edge. then put the covers on over them.

I bought the one from Airplane Covers that goes out over the wings and fuel caps. It was around $200 and he customized it to fit over the Horton STOL kit. Fits great and stopped the rain leaks completely. I also had him include the provision for the second VHF antenna I installed afterwards. It was less than half the Bruce covers price and I'm very satisfied with it. Delivery was prompt.
