I think the plane is overpriced. I would be suspicious of the engine components since it has not flown much in over 30 years.

I wonder what the new Cessna 162 will sell for when it has 800 hours,, I wonder, will it be less then a low time 150, with "if required" a 0 time engine? I bet it'll be more then $50,000 and less utility. Not that I'm interested mind you, one 150 is enough for this kid,, Anyways, I guess I'll have to wait a few years to find out the answer to my question regarding value of a 162,, maybe not a fair comparison?

since there are plenty of 150/152's out there with 10,000 hours on the air frame and no failures, why pay the rediculous premium for an airframe with really low hours? I think it would be different if it was a tomohawk where the wings had a limited life span.
just my 2 cents.

You might notice that Aerobat is now in the club classifieds as well, it is the very first Aerobat made, and appears to be in above average condition. In my view the asking price is a deal. Keep in mind, there were only 1,483 Aerobats ever made worldwide, they are worth a premium compared to regular 150-152's, and being Serial #1 and in above average condition, with 1,160 SMOH, I'd personally look hard at this one myself if I was in the market.

It may be the first "production" Aerobat, but if I remember correctly (big IF, and I don't have access to my files right now) the "prototype" Aerobat was actually a 1967 150G. This same aircraft (I believe) later became the prototype 152, and later still was either disassembled or destroyed. Just a little trivia I need to check on later. smile

You are referring to N1914F (see club gallery)another similar thing happened when a 1973 model was converted into the first 152 and later 152 Aerobat see N7187C

In this [tappix.com] ad from the same page, there is a set of new in box Millennium cylinders for $2,600 in addition to the plane.
