The 150 was a good choice for me because I was getting back into aviation after 3-4 years off... I had a couple of not warm fuzzies at the local fbo's... that made me decide to buy the 150 to determine if A) I still enjoyed and was capable of flying
B) an intro into owning.
Like many others, I made due with the 150's capabilities... I flew it sporty, long cross countries, mountains. It does a lot fairly well, but it does make you pay attention to its limitations.
I really like the 150, but not to the extent that I feel bigger planes are a waste of space and money... There have been a couple of times that I wished I had extra displacement to get off the ground or clear an obstacle, regardless of the cost of extra fuel. Also, the short range and slow speed made giving up all the altitude to come down for a fuel stop disheartening at times... There's nothing like having a 5-7 hour endurance, just in case, and the space to wiggle around to "relieve" yourself

The only thing that sometimes raised my eyebrows was when I was asked what type of plane I was flying and I said a C-150... there was sometimes that pity/condesending look like I was a lesser qualified pilot because of the 150. You all know that there are some highly qualified pilots on this board, from ATP's to Alaska backcountry fliers, to IFR junkies... We are judged by the plane we "own", not by the experience we carry... too bad...
I would include the 150/152 in the group of "good" planes to own, but its not the end all either...
