Corey, as Jeff has mentioned,, Get a fellow aviator to help you out. I remember way back when,, i purchased my 1st plane, I was having a very difficult time, that is until I met my future flying buddy. He had several thousand hours in all kinds of planes, had been a mechanic in the airforce,, Once I got to know him, he got to know what I was looking for and then we went shopping. Made my purchase easy. So the best advise,, is Jeff's!

Corey,

Hung and I are looking at August 18 or 19 for him to fly here for the corrosion inspection. You know Hung, he always packs his camera and he's got a trigger finger standing at the ready so there will be plenty of documentation.

We'll be comparing his plane to a 1979 152 in my hanger that is disassembled and full of corrosion. She's the corrosion queen of the 150/152 world and her nick name is Queenie.....go figure huh?

It's a very sad ending for any plane. I've grounded her for life, never to fly again....kinda like taking a good dog in for the final visit with the vet.

At any rate, Hung and I have discussed putting the inspection on the forum as a learning tool for all. Corrosion is a killer and when dealt with early enough, can save the life of our beloved planes and maybe a pilot or two along the way.

Stay tuned.

Corey, I'm sorry I forgot to send the camera with Jennifer to take to the airport. She was helping my with my demolition derby car last night and cut her hand, a trip to the emergency room and 11 stiches later we came home really late. We were both dragging thins morning, I'll make sure she takes it tomorrow.

BTW, if this or any plane in the IL, IN, MI, OH, KY area happens to be "the one" and you need a way to get it back, I'll be happy to fly it home for you! I charged one dollar to ferry a Tri Pacer from Kansas City to here for a local guy, does $2.00 sound fair to go to your neck of the woods!? grin

Boy, the guy gets a little work and suddenly his price doubles! Talk about inflation!

smile smile

Corey, there's been tons of good advice here. Be patient and be persistent. I think a lot of us "fell into" our planes. As Jeff Davis said, it'll happen if it's meant to be.

Good luck!

Gosh Bryan, Take care of your wife, the photos can come later. As for the $2.00 ferry, I'm speechless. For those of you selling planes in IL, IN, MI, OH, and KY your chances just increase 10 fold.

But really Bryan, $2.00? How about $2.00 and a heathly donation to the club?

He can fly private charter in a rattly old '65 worn out cessna 150. I can charge him, too... another 2 dollars!
