The newer stuff is really nice, but I wonder how it will be performing in 49 years (the age of our C-150). I guess some of us may still be around to see

Unless I'm very wrong, lack of support will be the biggest killer item on this front.
As an example, my perfectly functioning GX55 GPS had a simple display issue years ago but the vendor quit manufacturing them for Garmin (Apollo) so it couldn't be fixed.
Rather sad but it's the reality we're faced with.
