But lots of fun once I did. You may consider just renting until you decide on what model. Possibly go to Clinton flyin and you will see a lot. I also have have some big friends as well....if you fly mainly by yourself or with medium size friends a 150 maybe ok to own. Then when you want to fly a bigger person just rent a 172. Flying in higher terrain does have its challenges. Phoenix is only 1134 feet above sea level, no prob for a 150....but flying in AZ mountains during the summer you have to be very careful.
