Find a plane your interested in and ask here. The group is widespread and should be able to find you a reliable mechanic in the area near the plane
What Bruce said. We all love spending other people's money, and will gladly go shopping at your expense!
But, to be serious, just about all of us are current airplane owners. Which means three things:
1) We're not likely to poach a good deal.
2) We've been through the buying process already.
3) We're likely to have a mechanic that we trust.
So when you find a likely prospect, post it here. If you're more than halfway interested, ask if the nearest club-member can take a look-see for you. If it passes local muster, that "buying buddy" can help you find a trusted mechanic for the pre-buy inspection.
Plus, a "buying buddy", being a jaded, cynical, airplane-owner, won't have stars in their eyes and can help you spot defects before you fall in love with another man's plane.
