Yes, but investing for fun and investing for profit are two different things! What we invest in our airplanes that we might better enjoy them does not necessarily translate into improved value to anyone besides ourselves. Painting a 150 in a many-colored day-glo rendition of an exploding fruit-salad might appeal to some few as having increased value, while others depreciate it as needing a complete stripping and return to a factory paint scheme to restore the basic value.
That said, this airplane has several desirable features, and I don't believe anyone could "build" anything similar from a stock 150 and purchase the mods and additional toys for as low as $72,000 total. It is decidedly a limited market, as only someone with similar operational interests and training as the owner would consider the "package deal" at that price, and might even consider it a bargain. For a 150 with these mods and additions and appears to be in as good a condition as this one, I don't think it's too outrageous a price to the right buyer (although maybe on the high end of the market... as perhaps it should be)!
