Yep! I was in my 20's and unwittingly built myself a small bomb! There was no more than 2 or 3 drops of kerosene in that clock. I must have figured it wasn't enough to raise the mix to a combustible level.
WRONG!
BTW, the clock ran for a couple of weeks after that, but once the kerosene completely evaporated, it quit again.
