Steve I did the same thing with air vent and oat except I used the Davtron 803 unit which is digital clock OAT engine time /flt time (zulu or local) and voltage. It went in the space where the old clock was. Both the air vents from sportys and the clock were more then I expected to spend but they are both of high qaulity and outlast my use. The Davtron unit is also exceptional because of its multi purpose functions. I recommend both products highly.
