If you need wheel fairing brackets for the tubular landing gear, late style fairings, here are a couple of nice looking brackets. Item 4511570051
Football style fairings, no brackets or axle nuts, and apparently no metal plate for the top of the nose fairing, but nice looking. Item 4511388234
Metal wing tips for the early 150. These are advertised as 170 tips but all of the 140A, 150, 170, early 172, 175 and birddog used the same tip. no bidders, 2 days to go and $75 beginning bid, a deal. I sold a brand new set of these for $400 earlier this year. 4511219010
And several more metal tips in various states of condition. 4512057916 4512058318 4512058742 4512059126 4512059433

I bought just such a set of tips for my 150 earlier this year for $100 (I got lucky - though I haven't finished stripping the old paint off yet!). Not only do they not crack like the plastic wingtips, they accomodate the Whelen wing-tip strobes with no modification.

Yes, the metal wingtips will fit many 100-series Cessnas. The end rib (in fact, the entire tapered portion of the wing) is the same on many Cessnas. The straight/flap portion of the wing was lengthened as required for different models. However, as Charles will surely point out, the part # for the metal wingtip only applies to the very earliest models. The later models used various shapes of plastic wingtips whose part numbers supercede the earlier ones. In other words, according to the parts manual you can put later wingtips on earlier models, but not the reverse. My A&P says that won't be a problem for him (I forget what he had in mind). Your mileage (and A&P) may vary.

I've seen some brand new netal ones for $275 on Ebay recently, more than once. I'm thinking I'm glad I got rid of the pair that I sold before these appeared. The ones I had (and still have one more set) are actually Bird dog wing tips of a different part number, but are physically identical to the civilian ones. I have a Grimes strobe set piggybacked on my old E series nav lites and yes they work great and look good too, on the metal tips on my '59.
Remember, these tips have no redeeming qualities other than durability and decent looks. They don't do anything special as far as aerodynamics goes, they just cover the end of the wing. A big flat endplate will do more than these tips will. Its really up to your mechanic.
