My F-model '66 has McCauley wheels and calipers. I can't imagine rotors not being available from one source or another. Used if nothing else. The all-new setup had to cost a small fortune!! OUCH! That would be painful frown

Loosey Sue is a 1973 150L. Someone posted that rotors are available.

The conversion cost $2000. Ended up with a $6000 annual. cry

Sharon, This was quite an expensive annual, typically if you had to, conversion kits are roughly about $1200-$1300. For that kind of money they must of changed quite a bit of other parts,, I think I would talk to someone that is reputable and review the bill. By the way,, did you get our old wheels back? If not, tell them you want them back,,They are worth money,,,

Even if they couldn't find anyone with rotors [aircraftspruce.com] in stock, they should have contacted you first before ordering new wheels that you didn't really need. How do they know that you don't have boxes full of spare parts or a source that they didn't try? I could see if it was only a few bucks, but it sounds like this was over a $1000.00 difference. That's not right. My mechanics called once to let me know they were going to replace my starter and to ask me which one I wanted them to buy. That's the way it should be done. I hope they gave you all of your used parts. At least you can sell the wheels.

That doesn't sound quite right, Sharon. A friend of mine replaced the brake discs on a 73 150 he looks after and was able to buy them with no fuss. He was going down the same road as you did, with the conversion kit, when all he really needed was the discs and pads. I think the total cost was around $200 USD.
I would hate to think that you got ripped off. Can you post any more information, such as part numbers?

Cleveland had never marketed an STC'ed conversion for these aircraft. In the past, they marketed a non-STC'ed kit that required individual field approval for each installation. Then along came Cessna and negoiated a deal with Cleveland. Cleveland ceased marketing the Field Approval kit and in their catalog they send you to a Cessna Serivce Bulletin and it provides information on Cessna marketed and approved Cleveland conversion kit.

Indeed, Cleveland packaged and marketed and STC'ed conversions might run $1500 but add the Cessna Corp into the equation and $2000 easily becomes a reality.

Hi Sharon, I'm just wondering where you ended with your wheels and the A&E?
