Thanks gang, I have gone the home equity route, and we'll probably pay for the plane that way in the end. In the meantime, I'm going to start with a financing company that has no prepayment penalty. Loan amount will be 36k for 20 years with a 20% down payment for an 8.00% finance rate.

Before you obtain a loan, probably most lending institutions will require you to have hull insurance that would cover your loan entirely if the plane is bent?
