I finally have some pics to post on my new bird. We are now in the process of completing the importation...and I will create an Export/Import post and try and actually GIVE some info for a change.

To recap - with the results of the import inspection at hand, the owner and I agreed on $20,000 US. It has just over 4000 TTAF and 240 hours on the engine that was done in 2001 by a top-notch shop. New Imron paint in 2000. I'll add shoulder harnesses straight away...and may need to replace the carpet for the import as the old stuff is automotive carpet (oh Shelby....). An interior re-do will be done at some point...

I've learned a lot in the past 4 months, so THANK-YOU to the ENTIRE CLUB and a special thanks to (in first letter alpha order) to Bart Deal, Chuck Hanna, Gary Shreve, Grants Pass Bill, Gremlin, Hung, Lionel_CFETZ, Reg Scotland. Bart and Gremlin went way, way above the call by actually flying to a couple of airplanes I was considering and sent awesome reports back.

OK...you want pics...I've got pics...

Very nice Rob, I know you're going to be very pleased,, The price was good, I don't think you could've of found one like this in Canada, at least not for that price. I'm looking forward to reading your import post. Wish I would of thought of that when I did mine,, I think down the road your post and experience is going to help someone else a lot,, Enjoy the plane,, and if you ever come over to where you want to see some fantastics sites and if you're into world class skiing, golfing or just lounge in a hot pool to relax the weary bones and kind of stuff,, give me a call, Check out Columbia Valley, Invermere and Radium Hot Springs,, plus Mountain flying can be a lot of fun in itself.

Congratulations Rob - Very nice looking aircraft. One of my mates has a '59 model in Canberra. It kills my M model in the climb and is just as fast in the cruise. Cheers - Ross

Congratulations, Rob!!! What a trip it was to find this one!!!

Very nice. Well done on the way you posted the pictures, too. Very easy to use.

Next picture has to be you and your wife in front of it. That would complete the collage!!!!

Again, very nice!!!! Enjoy it! Uh... Clinton is 4 months away... See ya there!

Rob,

Yep, that is a fine looking aircraft cool cool. I was in Narromine yesterday (country town out west NSW) and I saw a 59 model out there that had a tailwheel conversion done to it, they look pretty cool with their rear end on the ground too you know

Good luck with you new bird

Cheers

Thanks folks!

Ya...I don't think I'm gonna make Clinton this year...I'm the kind of guy that will have the leave the nest slowly.

Hey Gremlin, I'd be curious to know your thoughts now that you've seen (in person) the 150 in Kentucky...and now the one I ended up picking.

Hi Rob,

Your plane is beautiful! I know the interior needs work but to me the price you paid with the gorgeous exterior seems quite reasonable! When you're done with it, it'll be a show piece for sure. Nice job on finding a nice 150. I hope you do make it to Clinton as I'd love to see your bird in person.

Happy and safe flying to you!
