Hi Rob,, looks like you're well on your way,, just wandering,, what's the issue with the prop,, did your AME say? I see it's been overhauled in 96' and only has 350 hours or so on it.
Thanks Rob,, Anyone here from Canada that can cofirm this,, Having to redo the prop every 5 years? Mine was just done when I purchased my airplane,, so I really can't comment on this requirement,, but in my case, best knowing in advance if that is the case.
The prop must be removed, and inspected for corrosion. Then, all being well, reinstalled. I'm pretty sure this is something your mech can do and not a manufacturer overhaul.

Here's Standard 625 from the CARs (Canadian Aviation Regulations)
Fixed Pitch and Ground Adjustable Propellers
At intervals of not more than 5 years, the propeller shall be removed from the aircraft and inspected for corrosion or other defects over its entire surface, including the hub faces and the mounting hole bores. While the propeller is removed, it shall also be checked for correct dimensions. However, if defects which require repairs beyond those recommended as field repairs by the propeller manufacturer are found, the propeller shall be repaired by an organization approved for the overhaul of propellers.
Information Note: (amended 1998/09/01; no previous version) The dimensional check requirement does not include a check on blade twist. The dimensional check refers to changes in blade dimension resulting from repairs, particularly cropping of the tips. It is intended to ensure that the blade diameter remains within service limits.

The owner is flying it up for the import inspection between March 12 to 24...all depending upon the weather.
They are having some pains about the logistics of crossing the border...the sellers give me the impression the effort is akin to flying accross the Atlantic or something.
The Canadian inspection is what I made the deal contingent upon...so if they decide it's too much of a pain, I'll adjust my price down as it really puts the burden of co-ordination on me big time.
Given the uneasy feeling I'm getting, I've continued taking a look around just in case...and found a '60 in Canada.
