Richard, I've used a pair, briefly! They aren't as uncomfortable as most over the ear type headsets, but they do feel funky, especially if you have small ear canals.

I AM buying a pair, because I like how light they are and the fact I need a pair without a headband (too tall for the Diamond DA-40 - and I have a couple hundred hours left flying one!)

Jeff, I think the key to the in-the-ear type headsets is getting the custom ear pieces made. Everything I've read says it really makes a difference in comfort and effectiveness.

I'm sure that's true! The one I tried on felt a lot better, and the one I am buying has different shapes and sizes for optimal comfort.

Always worth a try.

Well people, it looks like I now only need one pair of headsets now. There was a pair of Lightspeed 20XL's on ebay. I see they are normally priced at over $425. So I thought I was safe with a $300 bid!
