I kinda hate to throw a monkey wrench in here, but...I recall that we recently had a very similar '63 150C in the club classifieds, that seemed much more desirable to me than this one, for about the same money.
It had terrific paint, and factory long range tanks, and was located in Iowa. It appeared to be an above average straight tail at a good price. Lori and I actually talked about the possibility of buying it to convert to a taildragger, but since we already have two airplanes that we don't fly enough, we came to our senses, and passed.
The ad appears to have expired, so I don't know the current status, but I'll look it up later today and post the ad here if it's still available so you can look into it.
I can't promise that it is still on the market, but when I talked to the seller last, they were a little too busy to do any serious marketing, said they spend a fair amount of time at their second home in Mexico etc. I got the feeling the airplane was not going to sell anytime soon.
I simply reactivate the ad in the classifieds, search under Iowa. If it turns out the plane is no longer available, please email classifieds@cessna150-152.com and we'll pull the ad.

If this is the same plane, it showed up in the classified section today (Tue 30 Jan 07), reposted from Oct 06. Yes, it is in Iowa and I fired off a deposit check to hold it until they get back from vacation.
Later today, This is the same airplane as the owner stated in our afternoon phone call that the head of the 150/152 club looked at it sometime ago.
The engine was done in June 1, 1997. There is a stamp that the AME signed to verify the engine was now at zero time
I'd be curious to see EXACTLY what the stamp says. Only the engine manufacturer can ZERO TIME an engine. Anyone or anything else simply continues the total time on the engine and would note the time since overhaul as being "zero", which is really meaningless, as it has no legal standing.
If you are interested in what is considered an "overhaul" and what must be done to the engine to legally use this word in the logbook to describe the work, you need look no further than Teledyne Continental Motors Service Information Letter SIL 98-9A [tcmlink.com] which covers all Continental engines. If the work done doesn't meet the criteria set forth in this Letter, then the work done was simply an IRAN (Inspection and Repair As Necessary)
I fired off a deposit check to hold it until they get back from vacation.
Hey!! Isn't there some rule where a plane posted for review by another club member can't be scooped-up by another member.
Besides, aren't you busy with a project? Let the girls play!!!
I saw the ad (posted just today, and I check every day) on the club site first, then went through the thread and saw Royson,s comments. Note the edit time and later comment. What can't a guy own 1.5 airplanes. Done

I dunno, help me out -- I note the time of my post that I'd e-mailed the seller after Royson made his post...and PRE your post.
Anyway...I snooze I lose...lots of 'em out there...own as many planes as you like...if you find a nice one out there and you don't wish to buy it, let me know.
