What do you suppose the owners' reserve is?

It's a strange mindset that causes people to keep something even though they have no intention, desire, or hope to use it again. It would be intersting to know and understand the motivations in these cases.

This plane is located pretty close to me, I just seen an ad in the local paper for it yesterday, they were asking $11,000 for it.

Did anyone notice the label above the suction guage that read "SUCKEN" or the one above tach that read "TAK"? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I can't speak for or defend the owner, but I have personal experience with that "mindset"! In 1982 I wrecked my pristine 1970 VW Beetle. It broke my heart. I should have scrapped the car immediately, but I didn't. Instead, I by chance located a like new 1970 Beetle body that the owner had removed from the chassis to build a kit car! I got it for $50, and started the full body-off restoration process. One thing leads to another, money gets tight, priorities change, the kids grow up and get married, grandkids, sailboats, airplanes, computers, more grandkids, a new house ........

Then one day you wake up 25 years older and you still have a half finished 1970 Beetle in the hangar beside a half finished 1970 Cessna 150 AND a ratty but restorable 1970 VW Karmann Ghia (Coincidence? I dunno! 1970 was a good year for me!)

Anyway, the intention, desire, and hope was always there! Life gets in the way, sometimes, motivated or not!

Sad.

I wonder what it would take to make that plane airworthy again. It may be cheaper to simply buy another 150.

I hope they have enough for the restoration.
