wouldn't the value of the engine alone be about $10k??
that would make this a good deal at $13k??

It seems legit, but you never know. He's not asking for a deposit up front. It looks like the N# is 6514T. If it was much closer to home, I'd go check it out.

Possibly a very good deal for an A&P! I'd go look!

I am traveling up to look at it. As of mid day Sat I am the high bidder. I have set a max bid on the value based on some data I have received and what I perceive as the cost to get it flyable. It looks like a fun winter project.

I was thinking of flying up but the weather looks to be crappy for the week. The cost to go commercial is $500-$900. Greyhound goes through but who wants to ride the bus, so it may end up being a road trip in the MR2.

I will keep you all posted.

Congratulations, Jim! She looks to be an excellent project. I'm glad to see her go to someone who has the resources to finish the job right. I predict you will spend as much money on her total (probably more) as you would have paid for a decent flyable A model, but if what I've read and seen in the pics is correct, she will be worth it!

Lots of midnight oil burning ahead, huh?

Jim keep us posted on your progress. It looks like someone did a good job starting that project. I bet it will be nice when you get done.

Have fun with your project. Hope to see it in Clinton in 2 or 3 years.
