One of the members asked me about paint in Northern California. I got my quote from Krakon in Lincoln, CA. Here's a photo of a 150 they painted. After seeing it, I wanted mine done just like it!

Is that N704JR?

Check this out! Once the link comes up, click "Continue" to view the current registration status. There's more to the story than is being told here! The current "owner" applied for registration less than three months ago, and had the application extended in November, and is apparently operating the aircraft on a temporary airworthiness certificate, possibly just for resale. Be very careful about this one! Take your time and do your research! It could be nothing but an admin problem, or this bird may have prior "history"!

Current FAA registration for N704JR [registry.faa.gov]

Carl, this just might be a case where the registration was not verified, and was cancelled by the FAA. There's always some who don't get the message...

I agree! I've posted about this myself. It could be as simple as the owner changed addresses and didn't notify the FAA. Then the Triennial Aircraft Registration Report could possibly be returned to the FAA with "no forwarding address", eventually resulting in "Certification Termination".

Insurance companies and salvage yards sometimes request airworthiness termination due to liability issues, without having to report any damage history (happens frequently during hurricane season). Such aircraft are sometimes sold as projects and can eventually reappear after being bought and rebuilt from salvage! I've learned of at least two similar incidents involving members of this forum, and know of a third involving a local owner.

Any prospective buyer needs to be aware of any possibilities, or any difficulty they may encounter in registration. I see "Cert Terminated" as a caution flag, but not necessarily as a red flag!

The certificate issue date is now showing 12/12/2006.
