Anyone have a full carpet they're wanting to get rid of or sell? Thanks much. The shop working on my plane lost mine which was in good condition. And now it's holding up the whole project. UGH.

If you want a new, top-notch carpet kit, go to www.TNwings.com [tnwings.com] . The owner (Shelby) is a Club member, A&P/IA, and does fabulous re-upholstering, besides selling new seat covers and carpet kits.

I'm with Hung. Call Shelby and order a carpet.

I'm not sure why the lack of a carpet should hold up any project. It takes about fifteen minutes to put one of Shelby's carpets in a plane. Same for any carpet.

I sure hope the shop is going to pay for the carpet. Did they lose anything else????

Yup........TN Wings is your answer.

Quick and easy......just pick your color and you're off to the races.

They sell pre cut and ready to go carpet so it's an easy install......for the most part.

The only fly in the ointment are your kick panels (the last picture).

Most kick panels have the carpet wrapped around them (unlike mine in the picture) so removing your old and installing the new takes time and labor.

If yours are carpeted you'll want to replace it (so it matches) and the carpet to do that is included with their carpet kits.

Good luck Deziree and keep us posted.

I agree with everyone else on calling TNWings if you want new carpet. I got mine there and I love it.

I also agree with George, I would sure hope at shop that truly lost something for one of their customers would be paying to replace it.

That being said, if you just NEED a set of carpets, I still have my old set that you can have if you'd like. It's stained a bit and would need cleaned. It's a tan color and a complete set. If you want it, just pay shipping and it's all yours.

I've been speaking with Shelby and he's very kindly taken the time to walk me through some ideas. I'm just hit with the ridiculous price of new kick panels (the scrap yards don't have any), so trying to figure out a way to purchase and install carpet only, without those panels.

@Michael Scheib - would you mind sending a few photos of the carpet you have? I might be interested!

Other idea was to just leave the carpet out altogether, I see some people doing that. But with the new avionics and interior panels, I was thinking that would likely lower the sale price (need to sell asap!) since it makes it look all tied together.

I'll take any ideas!

Thanks all

I'm hoping they'll reimburse me for at least some of the carpet and or seat they lost. I would be done with this restoration project now if they hadn't lost the two items. They're not even helping to replace what was lost, I'm obviously doing all the work to get it done.

And being hit with the side/kick panel cost is way more than I was expecting.

Hey Michael I believe my private message went through but in case not, I just had an idea - if you're able to ONLY ship both kick panels from your old carpet, I could purchase some new carpet to fit over those and save the cost of the panels (which is what's eating me alive) - even if I have to remove the old carpet myself.

Thanks so much!

Deziree

You can text the photos of the carpet! Send me a PM if you didn't get mine earlier.
