Scott,

I see that Indy Aero (roughly 190 miles from you in Lexington) has two 150's offered, one of which appears to be a 1976 with 225 SMOH offered at $17.5K.

That one might be a little easier for you to go see for yourself on a day trip, if it's attractive to you. I know nothing about the plane or this dealer; I've just been looking on-and-off for awhile.

This club, a group of fine people, was very helpful to me back in January when I had a pre-buy done on a 150 out in California. I posted pictures of corrosion that was found in the wings and got lots of good advice. I didn't buy the plane.

Even though I'm probably going to get a 172 now, I still like to read everyone's posts here and have learned a lot. I've read that if I argue a 172 is really an experimental 150 with four seats, I can stay in the club?

Good luck with your search.

Bill, I looked at that plane at Indy Aero, or I should say that they sent me close-up pics of the wings and body. The paint was horrible - some corrosion evident and aluminum exposed, was advised by others to avoid - though I have to admit, I was initially very attracted due to price, engine time, location, etc. Thanks for the tip though. -Scott
