Folks, I have a Northern Companion Pre-Heater that I'd like to sell, since I no longer have airplanes, and I'm spending winters in the warm climates so I REALLY don't need this wonderful pre-heater. I'll provide a link for you to see what I'm selling, but it comes in two varieties: tail wheel and nose wheel and I have the ducting for both since I had a supercub and a 152 during my winters in Alaska.
It's a neat product since it has a gas stove (I think it's made by MSR) that runs on any fuel, including avgas. It doesn't have forced air so there is no need for a battery. Everything stores in one cylinder and it's portable to take along if you need to preheat where there is no electricity. It was invented and developed by an Alaskan, and it's probably best suited for really cold climates, but after 18 winters in Alaska it is the very best stand alone pre-heating product I've found (I only used it the last few winters, and only when I was out in the wilderness without electricity for my Tanis heater).
The upside is that it is compact, burns multiple fuel (including avgas), high BTU and just a cool design. The downside is that it's REALLY expensive. To buy it today you'd pay over $1,100.
But wait, there's more. Since I no longer have airplanes, and this is just sitting in my shop, I'm going to try to sell it locally for $500 ... but for you folks in this splendid club, I'll sell it for $300 if you pay postage. Yes, you heard it right, a $1,100+ product that is barely used going for the low low price of $300 (seriously).
Check it out and let me know ... I'll wait a few weeks since this isn't the best time to be selling engine pre-heaters, but if I don't get any takers here I'll probably post it on Facebook Marketplace (someone else's account ... I don't do FB) and see if I can sell it for half of the new price, and probably to someone locally so there's no shipping.
