AOPA’s Mark Baker said as much when he spoke at the Clinton Fly-In a few years ago.

I was standing there and heard him say it.

I sense we know these planes better than almost anybody else?

The only problem with being familiar (or somewhat, anyway) with the outstanding airplanes in this club is it make some of us (me!) feel like we are unworthy, flying around in a 150/152 with gravel chips in the paint and old fashioned analog instruments! smile Then again, it does give us something to aspire to!

You can make your plane's paint look better for almost free! Just come to Clinton and park next to the RatRod. Can't help you with the instruments though, I went square a few years back. frown

But RatRod has the kind of character that has to be considered unique.......and I admire uniqueness.

He's always reminded me of Robert Conrad with an EverReady battery sitting on his shoulder. smirk
