I hope the new owner has as much fun with it that I had.

Congrats, Dan.........quick and painless. whistle

Hopefully the old gal will show up at Clinton next year with the new owner smiling to beat the band.

I don’t know...

Bought quickly and sight unseen makes me wonder what country it is headed for...

It would sure be nice if the new owner popped up here and the plane showed up at Clinton.

I guess the quick sale ruined Ron Twente's opportunity for a quick flight to Indiana. smile Or maybe Ron's friend is the person who bought it sight unseen.

No...

He is real disappointed. He already had brought it back to Missouri in his mind. I am now trying to talk him into getting the 1972 Cessna 150L that Ron Stewart is selling.

But he is still "HIGH" on Dan's plane that he didn't get but really wanted.

Should I tell my friend Mark about Jim's 152? I am afraid if I did that and he didn't get it either, he would never look at another airplane again!

My experience has been that the good planes sell like this, and if you know of one, you need to go for it without hesitation. I lost out on a nice Cardinal because I wavered for a couple of hours when I first saw the owner post on the Cessna Pilots Society.

I was first in line for my current 182, and though I wanted a pre-buy and more pictures after my first contact, I decided I didn't want to chance it and just agreed on the price with the owner and got it sight unseen. The owner had told me there were others coming to look at it two days later.

I did have some knowledge about the plane, as I had seen the owner post about his plane over many years and knew what kind of care he put into it. Based on that, I felt comfortable going for the plane with little more than a handshake. In fact, the owner didn't even want a deposit from me. I was on my way to Germany the next day and wouldn't be able to go out to get the plane for several weeks. He was willing to virtually shake for it over the phone. I am still extremely happy with my purchase.

I wouldn't buy sight unseen from Barnstormers or Trade-A-Plane, but I would do it again with a plane from someone I knew on a forum like this one or the Cessna Pilot's Society.

Jim's 152 is for sale (or will be in very short order) but I should start another thread on that topic.

I'm at a loss as what the price could/should/would be given it's a one off, show level plane and I'd be interested in opinions from the peanut gallery.

I'll post something in a couple days, or so and we can all open up the conversation and see where it leads.

Jim, weren't they selling the "reimagined 150/152s" a few years ago for the $99K range? If they can get close to $100,000 for that, you should be OK. Although I have never seen your plane in person, I "know" what it is and it is worlds apart from that yellow refurb!

That said, you are definitely playing in a different league than the typical 150/152 buyer!
