The flap switch in my 150G won't return to center. It's caused me some grief for sure. Just checking to see if anyone might have a working switch before I look elsewhere on the web. The part no. is S1661-1, or MS25201-5 or 8860K5.

Tnx,

Hello Bill,

My 150G had the same issue. It was like that when I bought it. It would go back to center after I put the flaps up, but not down. I ended up just living with it. Muscle memory took over and after a week or so it was rare that I forgot to retract the flaps. It worked flawlessly other than that.

I purchased a MS25201-5 new old stock switch off of eBay but it only has a spring in one direction. Does S1661-1 have a spring in both directions or only one?

If it only has one, it seems to me the spring ought to be in the down direction to keep you from dumping too much flaps in the pattern and getting too slow.

How should it be installed?

What about this. DPDT, momentary in both directions. Nice price point.

Yes...that looks like it would work. Being non momentary in the up position is just as dangerous. If you take off with flaps and accidentally raise them fully up, you risk a stall too.

My "M" is momentary in the down position only - this is standard for some years. Other years have momentary in both directions as far as I know.

Yea...I’ve determined that my 150G should have the spring in up and down. But, at least, the spring in the down would work better than what I have!

Eaton switch MS25201-6...mom on - on - mom on. That may be the one I’m looking for. Also 8860K6 is the same. Handles 18 amps at 28vdc I think it says.
