I used three coats of epoxy primer (pretty expensive) and two or three coats of acid proof paint. I hope it lasts a long, long time.

Who uses a lead acid battery anymore? if you are not doing that, the drain is a non issue and you should never have a problem with anything in the box. Jim Delta Pilot Ghetto KFFC Falcon Field N378T

There's wet and sealed, but they're all lead acid. The only exception for certified right now (to my knowledge) are the 'EarthX' Lithium batteries that are TSO'd.
