Just noticed a typo in my ad, it's a 1974 model, not 1975.

A friend and I are looking for a 150 and a first plane for both of us (so far we keep finding ones that either have corrosion issues or questionable engines). He wants to get his license and I want a more affordable way to keep flying since my “missions” are generally just local and for fun. Wish you were a little closer (we live in central Virginia).

Welcome to the Club, Brian. Are you related to Ken Yates?

Hi Brian and welcome to the club.

Don't let distance discourage you from looking at a plane you may want to purchase.
There are many in this group that have bought their planes from long distance using the help of other club members from the area the plane is located in.
Heck, one guy here from Arkansas bought a 150/150 in Alaska with the help of another club member.
If you are really interested reach out. Ask questions, get copies of the logs, have a pre-buy done. Then if you do make a purchase far from home the adventure
begins with the flight home.

Thanks for the welcome and the advice! Just joined but excited to find the group! Oh...and I’m not related to Ken.

Good luck with your search, Brian and welcome to the best type club on the planet.

I agree with Ron, keep an open mind about expanding your search as truly good planes are where you find them and the supply is unfortunately shrinking.

Ron speaks the truth. (Well, at least in the part I quoted...) I found a 150M in Indiana, and we live in northern New York state. Club members looked at the airplane for me on their own time (thanks again Bob Kaeser!) and ferried it home to me (Grant Garvey, you’re a really cool dude. Thanks, man.) My point is that VA to NE is almost a local airplane purchase, so jump on it if you’re ready! Best type club anywhere, right here.
