I see this morning over on the Cessna150152 Lounge FB site that a 1979 152 with just over 2,000 TT and 60 hours SMOH sold for 65K.

If only the Reimagined 152 wasn't so, well, yellow. grin

The 152 above is red.......just sayin. smirk

It seems that prices for 150/152's are increasing a little. I read yesterday that student pilot starts were up in response to the increase in demand for pilots for commercial operations. I guess the two kind of go together.

I think it is fantastic that someone who puts so much work in restoring an airplane can be rewarded when someone else recognizes what they are looking at.

Well I think even at that price he is losing money frown

Must have some reason forcing sale after restoration.

Any idea what a reasonable service life on a Cessna 150/152 airframe? There are plenty with over 10K hours, I'm sure. Are there Cessna 150/152s with over 20K hours? 30K? Do the hours make a difference? I'm thinking a 5K hour pipeline patrol plane might be more worn out than a 10K hour personal transportation plane.

I read on the Cessna 150/152 Restoration FB page that out of the thousands of 152's Cessna built, only about 1,500 (or so) are still airworthy and here in the states.

I guess so many have been wrecked and/or exported that the population has shrunk to this level.

I'm too lazy to research the authenticity of the above but if it's close to being true, the old economic law of supply and demand may be playing and ever increasing role in the value of the 152.

Just throwing this in the mix as food for thought.

Page 5, EOY 2015 there were ~2000 152s registered in US, so ~1500 now sounds reasonable.
